Carol Elizabeth (Manke) Vogel

Carol E. Vogel, 72, of Albion died on Tuesday March 9, 2021 peacefully at her home.
Carol was born on March 5, 1949 in Albion to Lloyd and Amelia (Wagner) Manke. She graduated from Albion High School. On March 25, 1966 she married Robert D. "Doug" Vogel in Jackson. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2013.
Carol retired from Family Dollar in Albion. Prior to that she worked many years for K-Mart in Albion until the store closed. Carol along with her husband Doug owned and operated Vogel's Locksmith in Albion for several years. She enjoyed crocheting, going fishing, and enjoyed learning technology with Facebook. She also enjoyed garage sales, spending time with her family especially the lunches and going on spur of the moment road trips. Carol loved her grandchildren and enjoyed being a great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Tony) Branham, Connie Vogel, Kitty (Donnell) Jones; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Janet (Leo) Diewald, Phyllis Owen, Pete (Helen) Manke, Terry Manke; special friend Jeffery Draper and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Dorothy Manke; brothers, Lloyd Manke, George Manke and Frank Manke.
A celebration of life will take place at 3pm on Saturday March 13, 2021 at the Albion Elk's Lodge, 10725 28 Mile Rd, Albion, MI 49224.
