SPC Brendan K. Gray, age 20 of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. He was born in Battle Creek on February 23, 2002, the third child of Robert and Mickey (Keller) Gray. Brendan graduated from Lakeview High School in 2020 and immediately began serving in the Army National Guard, where he considered it a very high honor to attend Airborne School and proudly graduated. Also, he was currently a student at Ferris State University in the Automotive Program.
Among the many things Brendan enjoyed, some favorites included many years of playing ice hockey as a goalie, most recently for the Ferris State D3 Clubdawgs, playing lacrosse also for Ferris State and CACC Teacher’s assistant in the Automotive Program. Brendan loved spending time with his family and friends, playing video games, riding his motorcycle, and chasing whatever happened to be his current dream and passion.
Brendan was an amazing soul, compassionate, kind, generous and goofy with an infectious smile and twinkling blue eyes that just drew you in. Brendan would stop what he was doing to help anyone in need, no questions asked, even if he had other plans, he would spend as much time as needed to help. He will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish Brendan’s memory are his parents, Robert and Mickey Gray; brothers, Robert L. Gray III, and Ryan A. Gray (Taylor Williams); sister, Madison “Maddie” Gray. Also, grandparents, Enis Gray, Pat and Susi Keller; aunts: Valerie Keller, Stephanie Keller, Annette Gray, Lisa Ward and Launa Farley; as well as many cousins and his K-9 companion, Thunder.
