Beverly J. (Jackson) Pratt

Beverly June Pratt, 92, of Marshall, passed away on June 28, 2023. She was born on November 4, 1930 to Dale and Bertha (Persails) Jackson in Matteson Township, Michigan. As a young child, Beverly attended a small country school then graduated from Colon High School.

She met the love of her life, Dale Pratt at a roller-skating rink and later married him on October 18, 1952 in Brooks Methodist Church. Together, they left Branch County in 1950 for Marshall, Michigan where they raised their family and enjoyed many years together. Beverly also enjoyed her opportunity to work for the Marshall A & P Store, Schuler’s as both a waitress and hostess as well as Two Hour Dry Cleaners. But her heart was always at home, and she remained in Marshall. Beverly loved to sew and knit, garden both flowers, and vegetables...canning everything she grew, and really liked to bake cookies too...her cookie jar was always full. She especially enjoyed the Coffee Club with her friends and going to see Tammy to get her hair done weekly.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Boorman of Fredericksburg, VA; son, Steven Dale Pratt of Marshall; two grandchildren, Jarod of Virginia, and Erin of North Carolina; two great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Rose Jackson.

She was preceded in death by loving husband, Dale Pratt; parents, Dale and Bertha Jackson; brothers, Richard Jackson and Kenneth Jackson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan, 49068. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm and a graveside service will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, 614 Homer Road, Marshall, MI 49068.
