Betty Jean (Young) Dunn

Betty Jean Dunn, 97, of Marshall, passed away on December 7, 2022 doing what she loved - traveling to Ann Arbor, shopping and eating her favorite sub at Jersey Mike’s.

She was born on June 24, 1925 to Benjamin and Matilda (Weidner) Young in Albion, Michigan. Betty was a graduate of Albion High School. She married Armond Kenneth Dunn and they raised their family together in Marengo, Michigan. Betty worked as a Teller, and then Loan Officer for Michigan National Bank until retirement in 1985. She loved cooking and golf, as well as any and all activities that involved her grandchildren. From Michigan to Iowa, she was beloved and known as “The Universal Grandma”.

Betty will be missed greatly by her children, Armond "Russ" Dunn of Bettendorf, IA and daughter, Teri Estes of Wellston, MI; granddaughter, Leslie (Dave) Sobieraj; grandson, Benjamin Porter; and great-grandson, Asher Sobieraj. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Armond; her parents; brothers and sister.

Services have been entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later time.
