Alan Hugh Durham

Alan Hugh Durham, age 77, of Marshall died Monday morning, November 23, 2009 at Oaklawn Hospital surrounded by his loving family.Mr. Durham was born on June 28, 1932 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Hugh and Marian (Geouque) Durham. He was a life long resident of this area and was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, class of 1951. He had been employed as an Engineer for over thirty years by Grand Trunk Railroad. He retired in August 1994.During the Korean War, he served in the United States Army.On June 30, 1961, he married the former Suzanne L. Baker in Marshall.Alan was a member of the Claude E. Hale V.F.W. Post #4073 in Marshall and the Brotherhood of Locomotives. His life centered on his family and was always in attendance at his children's and grandchildren's activities.He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Suzanne; daughters, Karen (Dave) Andes of Cheshire, Connecticut and Dawn "Marie
