Ronald A. Maehre, age 70, of Battle Creek, died on Monday, Sept. 3, 2018 at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
Ron was born on October 10, 1947 in Berrien Springs to Albert and Lilah (Collins) Maehre. He was a descendant of 6 Mayflower passengers. The family moved to Battle Creek where Ron graduated from Battle Creek Academy in 1965.
He was a self employed printer and entrepreneur until his retirement.
He was married to Carol A. Shipman. The couple had two children together, a daughter Kelli and a son Jeff. Their marriage ended in divorce.
Ron remarried, first to Aline Legault and then Donna Cathell, with both marriages ending in divorce.
He enjoyed nature, travel, and cars. Ron liked to work on his different cars. He was a dedicated member of the Marshall Seventh Day Adventist Church. He had a good sense of humor.
Surviving are his daughter Kelli (Rick) Scott and son Jeff Maehre both of Battle Creek; his grandson Frank Sproule and step-granddaughters Catie Scott and Carrie Scott; his brother Robert (Susan) Maehre of Calhoun, GA and sister Carol (Charles) Winn of Jamestown, OH; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 21, at 11AM at the Battle Creek Tabernacle of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
