David L. Slone

January 12, 1955 — October 3, 2018

David L. Slone, age 63, of Marshall, MI passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Marshall, MI on January 12, 1955, the son of William and Geneva (Wood) Slone. David graduated from Marshall High School and after graduating went on to attend Kellogg Community College. David was employed with Midwest Metallurgical Laboratory Inc. On August 30, 2003 he married the love of his life, Wendy. David loved his movies, especially Sci-Fi films. David was a child of the 70's, a true nerd and geek.

David is survived by his loving wife, Wendy; children, Paul Slone of Battle Creek, Mitchell Slone of Potterville, MI, Greg (Jennifer) Slone of Marshall, Stephanie Trapp of Denver, CO, Lisa (Svein) Leithe of Florida; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother, Geneva Hess; sister, Mickey Slone; and step-father, Art Hess. He was preceded in death by his father.

Family will receive friends at the Kempf Funeral & Cremation Services, Marshall on Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 am with Dennis Hall officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Battle Creek Cancer Care Center, 300 North Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49017.
