Kempf has been a family name in Marshall for nearly 100 years and has deep roots in its history, including selling our original location to what would become Marshall’s Oaklawn Hospital. Following this transfer, we built our current location in 2009 with help from the team of renowned funeral home designer and architect, J. Stuart Todd. Every room of the building was designed with families in mind, and our reception hall can hold up to 160 people at a time. It was important to the Kempf family that the building offered both convenience and beauty to provide the ultimate funeral home experience for the Marshall community.
Our staff at the Marshall chapel don’t limit themselves to giving back purely through funeral service. You can find our directors, assistants, and other team members joining their neighbors at the Exchange Club, FFA Alumni, Marshall recreational sports, several church congregations, and events like the Christmas Parade on Michigan Avenue every year. Craig Kempf even served on the Marshall City Fire Department for 37 years!
But it’s not just our dedication to the Marshall community that makes the Marshall Chapel a great funeral home. Our staff brings both experience and skill to arranging the highest quality burial and cremation services for every family that walks through the door. And when it comes time to see us, families will find that our funeral home is simple to find thanks to our convenient location right off I-94 and I-69.
