Roger F. Rosenzweig, 84 of Marshall died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Oaklawn Hospital after being stricken suddenly at home.
Roger was born on November 20, 1933 in Morley, Michigan to Fred and Ruth (Chipman) Rosenzweig. He graduated from Morley High School in 1953. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after serving two years. On June 11, 1955, he married Thelma Kelly Longstreet in Edmore, Michigan. She survives.
Roger owned and operated the Ultimate Hair Company in the Grand Rapids area for many years. He and his wife Thelma retired to Marshall and he opened his barber shop in his home on Michigan Avenue until he officially retired in 2014. Roger attended the Battle Creek Friends Church. He enjoyed basketball, baseball, and fixing anything around the house. Roger loved the socialization of his work, and especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Thelma of Marshall; children, Kathy (Richard) Doud of Ceresco and Jeff Rosenzweig of Battle Creek; grandchildren Philip Doud, Anna (Chris) Kohler, David (Rebekah) Doud, Emmett Rosenzweig, and Ella Rosenzweig. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Alger Rosenzweig and Aileen Burkholder.
Family will gather with friends on Saturday December 23, 2017 from 10-11am at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Service Marshall 723 US 27 North with a memorial service taking place 11am. Family will gather with friends and share memories of Roger following the service in the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Service Reception Hall Marshall.
