Wendell Wolf

Wendell W. Wolf, age 98, of Athens passed away Thursday August 13, 2015 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.Wendell was born on July 11, 1917 in Butler Township to Walter and Flossie Mae (Aurand) Wolf. He graduated from Battle Creek Central with the class of 1936. Wendell married Katherine N. Hoenes on August 27, 1938 in Bryan, Ohio. She preceded him in death in 1979. Wendell worked for several years as a Forman at the Kellogg Company. He retired his career there in 1982. Wendell married Edna Belle Pike Minniear on January 21, 1983. They shared 32 loving years together.Wendell had a passion for traveling, working in the yard, and flower gardening. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family.He is survived by his wife, Edna Wolf; daughter, Brenda (Robert) Holmes of Union City; son, Robert W. (Carol) Wolf of GA; Richard W. "Rick" (Erin) Wolf of FL; step-sons, Harry E. Minniear of Portage; Melvin G. (Denise) Minniear of Burlington; a step-daughter daughter, Ruby (Paul) Thompson of Bellevue; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Wendell was preceded in death by his first wife, Katherine Wolf; son, Ronald E. Wolf in 2000; grandson, Michael Wolf; and granddaughter, Heidi Wolf.Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4PM and 6-8PM on Sunday August 16, 2015 at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home, Marshall Chapel , 723 Old US 27 N Marshall, MI 49068. A Funeral service celebrating the life of Wendell will be held at 2:00pm on Monday at the Funeral Home with Pastor Kathy Jenkins of East Leroy Community Church officiating.
