Vinetta Hackworth, 87, of Homer died on June 2, 2015 at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living.Mrs. Hackworth was born on September 21, 1927 in Salyersville, Kentucky to Sherman and Roxie (Hackworth) Risner. She graduated from Homer High School. On December 21, 1946 she married Loren Hackworth in Homer. He preceded her in death on February15, 1996.Mrs. Hackworth was a home make and stayed at home and raised her family. She was a member of the Apostolic Church in Marshall and Albion. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, bowling and spending time with her family. Mrs. Hackworth will be remembered by her family and friends for being a lady who would help anyone in need.She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Sandra) Hackworth of Columbus, Ohio, Dale (Diana) Hackworth of Homer, and Lorna (Fred) McMillen of Litchfield; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Miller of Albion, Juanita (Kenneth) Brown of Parma, Roberta Owens of Chapel Hill Tennessee, Doris Jean Owens of West Liberty, Kentucky, and Maxine Yeager of Homer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister Rubina Risner.Visitation will take place at the Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Homer Chapel 303 South Hillsdale Street Homer on Monday June 8, 2015 from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating her life will take place at 1:30pm on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the Kempf Fuenral Homes Homer Chapel with Pastor G. David Trammell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Family requests memorial contributions to the American Alzheimer's Association. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
