MAY WALKER May Walker, age 87, of Eckford Village, Homer, died on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008 at Tendercare of Marshall. May was born on May 25, 1920 in Lansing to Clyde and Martina (Fauss) Hands. She grew up in Springport. On June 19, 1937 she was married to Burdette J. Walker at her parent''s home near Springport. The couple resided in the Homer area the majority of their lives. May was a homemaker. Burdette preceded May in death on October 15, 1988. May was a member of East Eckford Community Church. She had been a member of both the Marshall and Tekonsha Senior Citizen Groups. May enjoyed time with her family, friends, and reading. Surviving are her daughters, Edna (Robert) Stone of Marshall and Martha Britten of Lansing; her son, Merrit Walker of Grand Rapids; 6 grandchildren; and special friends, Helen Hazen and Bruce Rapp. She was also preceded in death by a son Irving Walker; daughter- in-law, Alicia Walker; sons-in-law, John Schubert and Harold Britten; sister, Mildred Lewis; and brother Miller Hands. Friends may call at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Sunday 1PM-7PM, where family will be present to greet friends and share memories from 1PM to 4PM. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, Jan. 21, at 11AM at Kempf Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Albion Memory Gardens.
