Johnnie Wallen, died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Oaklawn Hospital, in the living care of his family.Johnnie was born October 3, 1924 in Allen, Kentucky to Walter and Sarah Wallen. He married Freda Hall of Prestonsburg, KY on February 21, 1946, after his return from WWII. She survives him.Johnnie and Freda moved to Marshall 64 years ago. John enjoyed carpentry, and built two homes for his family himself. Where he lived until the time of his death. He used his carpentry skills to help build or repair various older churches in Marshall. His other passions were hunting, fishing and gardening and had a small working farm as well as being a beekeeper. A normal summer day you could find him floating the Kalamazoo River. He took many a trophy fish in competitions. Johnnie spearheaded the campaign to restock the river after a chemical spill up river from another city. Johnnie also worked on the clean up campaign for the river that her so dearly loved.Johnnie was very instrumental in establishing the first CB club in Marshall the Mac 20 Club. He used his CB tower to help support the local Law Enforcement Agencies in helping with getting the "word
