Helen L. Mack age 85 of Marshall passed away on Sunday August 16, 2015 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence in Battle Creek.Mrs. Mack was born on November 6, 1929 in Albion, Michigan to Robert and Vera (Newell) Quick. Helen was a life long resident of the Marshall area and was a graduate of Marshall High School. She attended Cleary Business College for two years and continued her education attending Michigan State University. Mrs. Mack had worked for various companies throughout her working career. She served as the Executive Secretary for E. J. Trout in the Quality Control Department of the Kellogg Company. Other employment include Woodlin Metal Company, working nights in the office at the Eaton Corp. and as a Teacher Aide for the Marshall School District's, Sherman Elementary School.On September 6, 1952 she married William Mack in Marshall.Helen was a very active member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Marshall, serving as a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Women of Trinity Guild. She was also a member of the Tray Favor Guild of Oaklawn Hospital and a Blue Bird Leader when her daughters were young. She is remembered by her family as a hard working woman that always put her family first. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A favorite family activity was traveling to Spider Lake near Traverse City to spend family vacations there.Surviving Helen are her husband of 62 years William Mack of Marshall, daughters, Karen Strough of Battle Creek, Carol (Michael) Albaugh of Marshall, son, William (Michelle) Mack of Novi, MI, 8 grandchildren, David (Kelli) Albaugh, Steven Albaugh, Thomas Albaugh, Eric Strough, Kristen Strough, Leah Mack, Will Mack and Owen Mack; 2 great grandsons, George Albaugh and Noah Albaugh; and a brother Albert (Brenda) Quick of Traverse City.She was preceded in death by her parents: and, son in law William StroughThe family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel 723 Old US 27 N Marshall, MI 49068. A Funeral service celebrating the gift of her life will be held 1:30 PM, Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 101 E. Mansion Street, Marshall with The Reverend Anne Schnaare officiating. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery.Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Trinity Church or to the Marshall Community Foundation.
