Bob Johnson age 84 of Homer passed away on Monday January 30, 2017 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 19, 1932 a son of Coy and Rebecca (Calhoun) Johnson in Bevinsville, KY. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 9, 1956 he married Irene Mullins in Bevinsville, KY. Together they shared 60 loving years. Bob worked at Albion Malleable Iron Company for 26 years retiring in 1986. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, bird watching but most of all spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.Surviving Bob are his wife Irene Johnson of Homer, daughters, Eula (Levi) Moore of Marshall, Nola (Tom) Robinson of Homer, son Nathan (Holly) Johnson of Jones, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, brother, Arthur (Billy Jean) Johnson of Neon, KY, sisters, Geraldine Martin of LaGrange, IN, Gwen (Bernard) Hall of Neon, Ky, Christine Marshall of Hampton, VA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters, and 4, brothers.Relatives and friends will be received from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at the Kempf Family Funeral Homes Homer Chapel, 303 S. Hillsdale St. Homer, MI, 49245. A celebration of Bob's Life will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday February 2, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Dwayne Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Homer. A Luncheon will take place at the Kempf Reception Hall Homer Chapel following the Committal. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home. Online messages may be left for the family atwww.kempffuneralhome.com
