Arturo "Art" Herrera, 66, of Marshall died on Sunday, December 19, 2010, at Bronson Medical Center in Kalamazoo.Art was born on December 29, 1943, in Laredo, Texas, to Samuel and Lina (Acosta) Herrera. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1961.Art worked for the Albion Foundry for over 30 years, and he retired as an inspector. Art enjoyed the outdoors, exercising, history, and going to Michigan International Speedway. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.He is survived by three sisters, Celia (Margarito) Garcia of Tecumseh, Delia (Augustin) Sanchez of Battle Creek, Juana Harris of Tecumseh, three brothers, Salome (Angie) Herrera of Tecumseh, Anastacio (Cutberda) Herrera of Sweetser, Indiana, Raul Herrera of East Leroy, son Troy Harris, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Oscar and Samuel Herrera, and sisters Esperanza Herrera, Consuelo Torres, and Maria Nieves.Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 22, 2010, from 4-6pm with family present to greet friends at that time.
