William Lee Harman

May 21, 1935 — July 3, 2020

William  Lee “Bill” Harman, age 85, of Granger, IN, went to his eternal home peacefully with his family by his side on July 3, 2020. He was born on May 21, 1935 to Walter James Harman and Maxine Leila (Yoder) Harman in South Bend, IN. William worked as an Inspector for MDOT and later as a consultant for the Calhoun County Road Commission, Hillsdale Road Commission and the Albion Paint Spot. On September 24, 1960 he married Sandra J. (Sovers) Harman. William and Sandra lived in Albion Township all of their lives, before moving to Granger, IN in 2019. Bill enjoyed bowling and bowled in many leagues in Jackson, Marshall, Albion and Homer. He enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his yard and gardening, He planted every tree in his yard. He loved to be on his John Deer tractor, which was his "Pride and Joy". He was an avid NASCAR fan. He cherished his beloved dogs, Dakota and Bear.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra J. Harman; Debra (Jim) Myers of Osseo, MI, Dawn (Earnest) Ray Ada, MI; Dianna (David) Laverdiere, Charlotte, MI, David (Joyce) Clark of Alabama, and William L. (Carole) Harman II of Granger, IN; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, LeRoy (Nancy) Harman, James (Mary Ann) Mason, Ruth Ann Nowakowski, and Susan (Debra) Mason. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joel, Michael, Frederick, Anthony, Walter Harman and Max Carter, & two granddaughters Kristen Hundt and Betsy Ray.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2020, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from 9:00 am - 9:30 am at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 9:30 am at the funeral chapel, with Pastor Arnie Klahr officiating. Interment will take place in the Fort Custer National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m., where full military honors will be conducted.
