Steven M. Stadtfeld, 46, of Pennfield Township, passed away unexpectedly on Friday March 1, 2019 at his home as a result of fire.
Steven was born on November 1, 1972 in Albion to John and Joann (Little) Stadtfeld. He graduated from Albion High School in 1990. Steven served in the United States Army for three years and was honorably discharged. On November 17, 2000 he married Stephani Smith in Battle Creek together they had a son, Gavin. Their marriage ended in divorce, but they still remained friends.
Steven had been currently employed at Denso Manufacturing in Battle Creek for the past 15 years. Prior to that he worked a short time at Walker and Eaton Corporation in Marshall. Steven enjoyed riding his motorcycle and his old classic cars especially his 1957 Chevy. Steven also enjoyed golf, fishing and sports. He was an avid fan of Michigan State and the Denver Broncos.
He is survived by his son Gavin of Battle Creek and his father John Stadtfeld of Albion. He was preceded in death by his mother Joann Stadtfeld in 2015; Stepmother Shirley Stadtfeld in 2014; and an infant sister Johnda Ann Stadtfeld.
Family will greet friends from 1-4pm on Sunday March 10, 2019 at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US 27 North. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11am on Monday March 11, 2019 at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Allen Henson officiating. A private interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
