Steve L. Rathbun

January 31, 1947 — July 20, 2019

Steven L. Rathbun, age 72, of Tekonsha, MI passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 20, 2019 at his home. He was born January 31, 1947 in Coldwater, MI the son of Lyle and Mary (Deeds) Rathbun. Steve attended college courses through Ford Motor Company and worked with them as a Journeyman Mechanic until he retired. Steve met Mary Grippen at a Parents without Partners Meeting and hit it off. On November 13, 1981, Steve married the love of his life, Mary. Together they shared many wonderful years.

Steve enjoyed walleye fishing on Lake Erie. Upon returning from his trip, he would prepare a wonderful meal with the fish he caught. He was an excellent cook. Steve could make any dish prepared with chef quality. And if you were close to Steve, sometimes those wonderful meals would end up in your refrigerator with a beautiful note on it. He was a very loving and considerate man, always putting Mary first.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mary of 37 years; children, Steven L. Rathbun, Aimee (Rodney) Mashke, Kristen Coffin; siblings, Duane (Cindy) Rathbun, Dale (Pamela) Rathbun; very special friends, Michael (Kerry) Rathbun; and friends, Pat (Carol) Cadry. Steve was preceded in death by his parents.
