Shirley A. Lawler, 90, of Marshall died on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Maplewood of Marshall.
Shirley was born on August 13,1930 in Marshall to Harry and Esther (Rapp) Miller. She graduated from Olivet High School in 1949. On August 25, 1951 she married John S. "Jack" Lawler at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Marshall. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2019. They were married for 68 years.
Shirley worked for Hayes Machine Company in Marshall for many years. She also worked for Michigan National Bank and Kevco in Marshall. She was a member of Saint Philip Catholic Church. Shirley enjoyed knitting and crocheting creating beautiful afghans and sweaters for her family. Shirley along with her husband Jack enjoyed spending winters in Winter Haven Florida.
She is survived by her sons, Charles (Karen) Lawler and Timothy (Robin) Lawler; two grandchildren Stephen Lawler and Mackenzie Lawler; and a sister Dorothy Stults. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Darlene Coats, Betty Faulkner, Marian Heisler, Margaret Miller, Mildred Foote, and Mary Lou Duckham; and her brothers, Harry, Robert, LaVerne Miller.
Visitation will take place from 4-7pm on Monday April 5, 2021 at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N Marshall MI 49068 with a rosary service taking place at 6:30pm. Due to Covid19 please use marked entrances and exits along with wearing masks and social distancing as suggested per state guidelines. A funeral mass will take place at 11am on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Saint Philip Catholic Church, 112 Capital Ave NE Battle Creek MI 49017. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Catholic Cemetery in Marshall. Memorial contributions are requested to Saint Philip Catholic Church, 112 Capital Ave NE Battle Creek MI 49017 or to the Oaklawn Hospice 13444 Preston Drive Marshall MI 49068.
