Sheryl Diane (Ritchie) Green

Sheryl Diane Green, age 72, of Bellevue died peacefully at her home on Friday, January 10, 2020.

Sherry was born on September 8, 1947 in Hastings, Michigan to Kenneth G. and Grace (Conklin) Ritchie.  She lived the majority of her life in the Bellevue area and was a graduate of Bellevue High School, class of 1965.  Sherry had been employed as a bookkeeper for Federated Home Life Insurance Company in Battle Creek and then for the Neighborhoods Inc of Battle Creek.  She retired in 2006.

Sherry was a very active member and volunteer in the Bellevue Community.  She was a member of the Bellevue Historical Society, the Good Samaritans and the Bellevue Senior Citizens.  She attended the Bellevue United Methodist Church and served as the Program Coordinator of the Bellevue Alumni Association and as a Voting Official.  Sherry also volunteered with the Meals on Wheels.

She is remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother.  She had a good sense of humor, a warm smile and many wonderful friends.

She is survived by a son, Douglas M. (Jenny) Green of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Kailin Green of Marshall and Brendan Green of Battle Creek and Nicholas Jones of Royal Oak; sisters, Laura Lee Kelly of Bellevue and Janine (Bruce) Novak of Bellevue; and a niece and nephew, Cynthia Kelly of Battle Creek and Jeff (Susan) Kelly of Caledonia

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bellevue Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Service.  A memorial service to celebrate the gift of her life will be held 3:30 pm Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Bellevue United Methodist Church with Reverend Mikki Sandlin officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue.  A luncheon will follow at the church.

Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Bellevue Historical Society or the Bellevue Good Samaritans.  Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
