Ruth Elaine Peters

Ruth Elaine Peters, age 82, of Albion passed away Saturday, March 14, 2020 in Kalamazoo, MI surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 30, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of Donald Cox and Winifred (Johnson) Cox. Ruth was a graduate Marshall High School in 1955. She was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She was an employed Claims Processor for State Farm Insurance, where she retired. Ruth was a member of the Moose Lodge. She was a huge “movie buff” and enjoyed movie trivia. She enjoyed doing needle point. She loved to go out to dinner for Chinese food. She and her husband, Duane liked to go to the Casino together. Surviving are her grandchildren, Karen (Jeff) Kimble, Kenneth Latty, Cody LaFountain, Doug LaFountain, Anna Nickerson-Mellow and Denise Roberts; nine great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; siblings, Nancy Ackerly, Donald (Rachel) Cox, and Patty (Bob) Bischoff. She was preceded in death by children, Jennifer A. Hills, Doug LaFountain, Cindy Squires and Dennis LaFountain; granddaughter, Crystal LaFountain; and her brother, Kenneth Cox. The family will receive friends at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068 on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home after the visitation at 3:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2020 with Reverend Father Craig Lusk officiating.
