Rosemary (Amaro) Gonsalez, 83, of Marshall died on February 15, 2015 at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Rosemary was born on April 17, 1931 in Laredo, Texas to Pedro and Guadalupe (Ramos) Amaro.Rosemary married her husband, Manuel Gonsalez Sr. in 1967 in Marshall. She loved working with Manuel at the old Su Casa Restaurant in Marshall, going to yard sales, making people laugh, spending time with her family, visiting Chicago, cooking for friends and family, and she enjoyed attending church. Rosemary worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Chicago, IL for a number of years before moving to Michigan where she began working at Marshall Public School as a custodian.Rosemary is survived by her husband; children, Richard Candelaria of Battle Creek, Robert Candelaria of Ann Arbor, and Manuel Gonsalez of Marshall; and numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; sisters, Ramona Casarez of Marshall, Gloria Nunez of Colorado, and Mary Pena Newkirk of Kalamazoo. She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, Pete Amaro, Charlie Amaro, Frank Amaro, Jesse Amaro , and Raymond Amaro; and 2 sisters, Lupe Sanchez and Jane Pratt.A visitation will be held at the Craig Kempf Funeral Home, 723 US 27 North, Marshall on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4-7pm with family present to greet friends at that time. A funeral service will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall. Memorial contributions are requested to the family. Assistance with memorials is available at the Craig Kempf Funeral Home. Please leave the family a personal message and sign the online guest book.
