Ronald Clendee Sanders Sr

Ronald C. Sanders Sr, 85, passed away peacefully at home Monday, August 17, 2020.

He was born March 24, 1935 to Lucille and Clendee Sanders in Bellevue, MI. He married Virginia (Ginny) Jones on November 5, 1966. He lived most of his life in Bellevue and after their retirements, he and Ginny wintered in Zephyrhills, FL, finally settling in Marshall, MI. He worked at both Post and Kellogg’s in Battle Creek, retiring from Kellogg’s after 25+ years.

Ron enjoyed camping, playing cards, both playing and watching golf, doing puzzles and spending time with his family and friends. Camping was a big part of his life, from rustic Northern Michigan where trees were sometimes sacrificed to get the trailers through to out of the way campsites to Tri Lakes Campground in Marshall where they spent most of their summers.

He is survived by his sons Mark (Shirley) Sanders, Brian (Deanna) Sanders, Ronald C (Joann) Sanders Jr, and son-in-law Michael Dolph. Granddaughters Nicole (Bob) Helcher, Staci (Greg) Sanders, Danielle (David) VanGuilder and Brieana (Mark) Moscarello, Kimberly Nobert, Candace Dolph. Great grandsons Austin and Mason and great granddaughter Averie, sister Joan(Dale) Goss, nephew Kevin(Debi) Goss, Maleah, Cortney, Christopher and Kelsey, grand nephews Brayden, Xander and Tucker and grand niece Lucille.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ginny, daughter Marci Dolph, parents Lucille and Clendee Sanders, in laws Lois Janousek and Marion Jones and wife Patricia(Gordon) Sanders.

A private graveside service to celebrate the gift of his life will be held in the Bellevue Riverside Cemetery with Reverend Margaret K.M. Sandlin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Ron’s memory to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association. Memorials may be made by going to the American Parkinson's Disease Association website, apdaparkinson.org or phoning 1-800-223-2732.  Assistance is also available through the funeral home.
