Devoted and loving Mother and Grandmother

Roberta Jean Eaton, 73, passed away peacefully in her Battle Creek, Michigan, home on May 8, 2023, at 3:30 pm, with her Granddaughter (Jordyn)(29) by her side, reading her scriptures from the holy bible. Roberta was born July 18, 1949, to Ernest and Edna Chacon, on a military base in San Francisco, California.

She moved around most of her childhood, and after moving to Michigan, Roberta worked as a data entry operator at Kellogg’s for 25 years.

On June 21st, 1982, at 32 years old, she married her loving husband, and purple heart veteran, Robert Eaton. The two were lifelong partners. Roberta was also President of the women’s committee of the auxiliary order of the purple heart foundation. Roberta was a very active person and dedicated her spare time to numerous hobbies and interests, such as singing with the choir group at her local church, bowling with a bowling league, traveling, and golfing every summer with her husband Robert and their Grandchildren. She also worked at the Post cereal store in Battle Creek, Michigan, once a week.

Roberta believed in God and always had faith in a higher power. She was a devoted Christian and made sure to keep up her religious practices by attending church every Sunday, along with her doing weekly bible study. Her favorite bible verse was John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Roberta is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert Eaton; three daughters, Tracy (Kevin) Huff, Kimberly Gruell, Teresa Eaton; fourteen grandchildren, Jordyn (Brian), Morgyn, Kaleb, Logyn, Bryce, Jersey, Taylor, Zac, Dylan, Bailey, Christian, Courtney, Chance, Chase; sixteen great grandchildren; and one brother, Charlie Chacon; and many many more loved and cherished friends.
