Robert C. "Bob" Wilbur, 69, of Homer, MI passed away on April 17, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI. Robert was born on July 19, 1951 in Albion, MI to parents Clare Henry Wilbur and Dorothy Lucille (Knisley) Wilbur.
Bob worked for Harvard Industries, formerly known as Hayes-Albion, originally Albion Malleable Iron Company. He also worked for Amsted Industries in Homer. He volunteered at the Albion Community Theater as the Lighting Director. While at the Albion Community Theater he "fearfully" tried his hand in acting. He served on the Planning Commission for the Village of Homer. He was a life member of Homer Historical Society and member of American Foundry Society. He was a collector of model trains and enjoyed home remodeling. Earlier in life, he was a Law Enforcement Explorer. Bob also enjoyed James Bond movies. He was a genuinely good and loving man.
He is survived by his very proud wife of 38 years, Linda J. (Hollingshead) Wilbur; son, Andrew (Kimberly) Payne; brothers, Clare Wilbur, and Bill Wilbur. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Dorothy Wilbur; his infant brother, Chuckie Wilbur; and brother, Kenneth Wilbur.
Cremation has taken place and a graveside committal service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, May 7, 2021 in Riverside Cemetery, 1301 S. Superior Street, Albion, MI 49224, with Rev. Loree Grinnell officiating. The family will welcome all who would like to join them in remembering Bob.
