Robert Eugene Jeffery

Robert "Bob" Eugene Jeffery, 98, of Battle Creek, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 at home.

He was born on July 12, 1923 to William and Elizabeth (Williams) Jeffery in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was a 1941 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Bob was inducted into the United States Army on February 4, 1943 and was honorably discharged on January 7, 1946, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Bob was in the battles of the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He earned the American Theater Ribbon, the EAME Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Ribbon, Purple Heart and the Victory Medal.

On June 11, 1946, he married Mary Fox in Battle Creek, sadly she preceded him in death on December 6, 1978.

Bob worked for 45 years for Post Cereal Company in Battle Creek, retiring as an Operating Supervisor.

Bob was a member of the Post Cereal 25 Year Club. He enjoyed walking at Lakeview Square Mall and then going to McDonald's to have coffee with friends. He was known in the neighborhood for being very meticulous about his yard, even winning an award from the City of Battle Creek. Above all else, Bob loved being with his family.

Bob is survived by his daughter-in-law; Patricia Jeffery of Bellevue, Michigan and his grandson; Robert L. Jeffery, Jr. of Newburgh, Maine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Jane Jeffery, his son; Robert L. Jeffery, Sr. his parents; his grandson; John Edward Jeffery, his siblings; Warren Jeffery, William Jeffery, and Dorothy Quick.

Visitation for Bob will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave. SW, Battle Creek, Michigan 49015 with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Kevin Brintnall, Chaplain with Grace Hospice officiating.

Burial with military honors will take place in the Battle Creek Memorial Park Cemetery.
