Robert J. Clark

March 20, 1930 — April 30, 2020

Robert J. Clark, 90, of Marshall died on Thursday April 30, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness.

Bob was born on March 20, 1930 in Lansing to Marion and Flossie (Uhl) Clark.  He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1949.  On June 18, 1950 he married Shirley J. Clark in Battle Creek.  She preceded him in death on April 1, 2012. Bob entered the US Army in 1952.  He was part of the 89 th Tank Battalion, and he was proud to say he drove tanks.  He was honorably discharged in 1954.

Bob retired from Post Cereal in 1985 after working for 35 years.  He was a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge and the Masonic Lodge.  Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowling.  He also enjoyed woodworking and building his addition to his home on Stuart Lake. Bob loved the family gatherings and spending time at the lake.

He is survived by his children, Sandy (Doug) Roberts  Larry (Cindy) Clark; grandchildren, Abby (John) Roberts, Elizabeth (David) Travis, Lisa (Jesse) Howell, Michael (Brittany) Clark, Sarah  (Sean) O’Kon, and Jason Roberts; great-grandchildren, Adriann Roberts, Madalynn Travis, Lilyann Travis, Alexis Clark, Harper Roberts, Harrison Howell, and Henry Howell; special niece, Sharon (John) Kiessling; and a good friend/companion, Marge Hakes. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Carl Clark and a Sister, Kay Wensloff.

Due to COVID-19 a private family viewing will take place on Monday May 4, 2020 at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 Old US Hwy 27 N, Marshall MI 49068.   A private family interment will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Fort Custer National.  Memorial contributions are requested to Oaklawn Hospice ( https://oaklawnhospital.org/donate/ ), 1344 Preston Drive Marshall MI 49068.  Memorial contributions may be mailed to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services PO Box 519 Marshall MI 49068.  Leave a personal message for the family and sign the online guestbook at www.kempffuneralhome.com
