Rena Lea Lautzenheiser, age 59, of Marshall passed away October 20, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Rena was born on December 16, 1959 in Marshall, MI to Gurney L. and Winifred L. (Kidd) Lautzenheiser. She graduated from Marshall Public Schools and earned her bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Rena worked as a teacher at The Montessori School of Pensacola, FL for 23 years. Most recently she held a position as an instructor at Angell Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Yachats, Oregon.
Rena loved the outdoors, and enjoyed camping, hiking, and geocaching. Rena also loved photography and of course her dogs.
Rena is survived by her sons, Ted S. Muir of Pensacola, FL, and Tom Muir III of Pensacola, FL; mother, Winnie Lautzenheiser of Marshall, MI; siblings, Bobbi L. Lautzenheiser of North Manchester, IN, Becky L. Lautzenheiser of Marshall, MI, Gerry L. Lautzenheiser of Aurora, CO, Galen L. Lautzenheiser of Homer, MI, Greg L. Lautzenheiser of Marshall, MI, Rose L. Lockhart of North Manchester, IN, and Ronda L. Lautzenheiser of Albion, MI; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Gurney L. Lautzenheiser.
Cremation has taken place and a visitation will take place at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 Old US 27 North, Marshall Chapel on Friday October 25, 2019 from 11am-1pm. A memorial service will follow the visitation, beginning at 1pm. Rena will be laid to rest in Glendale Memorial Nature Preserve in Defuniak Springs, Florida at a later date.
