Rachel Louise (Sain) Shaver

Rachel Louise (Sain) Shaver, 32, of Battle Creek, passed away on January 31, 2020 at home.

She was born on December 30, 1987 to Lloyd Sain and Wendy (Phillips) Boersma in Battle Creek. She  was a high school graduate and has worked at various jobs in the Battle Creek area.

Rachel enjoyed art which included painting, drawing and crafting. She loved going and hanging out at  the beach with family and friends. She was also a cat and dog lover and listened to a variety of music. Rachel will be remembered for absolutely adoring her 2 children.

She is survived by her children; Kya Onna-Louise Phillips of Battle Creek and Bryton Carter Shaver of Battle Creek, her mother; Wendy (Ron) Boersma of Battle Creek, her father; Lloyd (Sherry) Sain of Battle Creek, her paternal grandfather; Marvin Sain of Battle Creek, her maternal grandmother; Betty Phillips of Albion, her brother; Kyle James Sain of Jackson, her uncles; Kent (Kimberly) Phillips of Albion and Todd (Diane) Phillips of Mesa, Arizona, her aunts; Sheryl Collins of Battle Creek and Sheila Lancaster of Battle Creek. Rachel was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Lynda (Conrad DeBaun) Wight, Reuben Wight and Gordon Phillips, and her paternal grandmother Beverly Collins.

Funeral services for Rachel will be held at 12:00 Noon, Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Marshall Chapel (723 US HWY 27 N.  Marshall, MI 49068) with Rev. Dr. Versey Williams, Chaplain, Henry Ford Allegiance Health officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 until 12:00 Noon prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at a later date at Lee Center Cemetery, Lee Township, MI.
