Nadine Dake

C. Nadine Dake, 86, of Battle Creek passed away on May 25, 2021 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Nadine was born on January 15, 1935 in Mt. Grove, MO to her parents James and Minnie C. (Rainey) Coffman.

Nadine was a Homemaker, lovingly serving her family. She loved to read and was a gifted seamstress. She made clothes for her family and many others over the years. Nadine made and donated hundreds of wounded soldier bags, 1682 quilts for at risk kids in Calhoun County, many lap robes, and other needed items. She attended Grace Fellowship Baptist Church. Nadine read her Bible faithfully every day and when her children were young, she led them through Bible devotions every morning before school. She was an amazing cook. Before Nadine passed, she said that her joy was in serving The Lord and her family.

Nadine is survived by her husband James Dake; their children Eugene (Shelli) Dake of Findlay, OH, David (Nancy) Dake of Battle Creek, MI, Kathy (Greg) Hoxie of Papillion, NE, and Brian (Becky) Dake of Rhodes, MI; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother Donald Coffman, brother-in-law Herman Owens and sister-in-law Evelyn Coffman; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandchild, her siblings Olan Coffman, Dorcus Coffman, Lester and wife Elsie Coffman, Melvin and wife Pearl Coffman, Arvin Coffman, Audrey and Floyd Davis, Kenneth and wife Susan Coffman and Ethel Mae Owens and sister-in-law Shirley Coffman.

The family will gather with friends on Thursday, May 27 from 4:30 PM to 6PM at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave SW Battle Creek, MI 49015.

A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, Battle Creek with Son Rev. Brian Dake, Rev. John Adams and Rev. Tom Knight officiating. Interment will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
