Myron F. Avery, 74, of Marshall died on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at Maplewood of Marshall following a long illness.
Myron was born on March 4, 1946 in Marshall to Myron and Bernice (Katz) Avery. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1964, and he earned a Bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University.
Myron farmed with his dad out of college in Marshall Township. In 1978, he started Avery Leasing Trucking Company in Marshall. He retired from trucking in 2010. Along with trucking Myron opened and owned multiple Mancino’s Pizza and Grinders in Northern Indiana. Myron, along with the rest of the Avery Family competed with their six horse hitch of Clydesdales throughout the United States and Canada. Myron started attending county fairs as a young boy, and he was always a big supporter of the Calhoun County Fair. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially supporting his grandchildren at their events. Myron took great pride in the appearance of his properties. In his later years, he loved working outdoors in his woods off North Kalamazoo Avenue in Marshall.
He is survived by his children Kelly (Dan) Frever of Marshall and Tyler (Lisa) Avery of Marshall; grandchildren, Mitchell Avery, Audrey Myers, Halley Frever, and Natalie Frever; sister Corlinda (Alan) Huffman of Homer; niece and nephew, Courtney (Brad) Stoub and James (Katherine) Huffman. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place from 1-5pm on Sunday May 31, 2020 at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI. **Due to COVID-19 there will be marked entrances and exits with social distancing** A private service will take place on Monday June 1, 2020 at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Service. **A link for the funeral live stream will be on Myron’s obituary page at https://www.kempffuneralhome.com .
