Mary Lou Vogt, 90, of Battle Creek, formerly of Bellevue passed away on July 12, 2021 at Lakeview Assisted Living in Battle Creek.
Mary Lou was born on December 18, 1930 in Bellevue to Charles S. and Doris (Augustine) Otto.
She was in the top ten of the 1948 graduating class of Bellevue High School and married Gordon Vogt on July 18, 1948, sadly he passed away on October 30, 1989.
Mary Lou was a member of Bellevue United Methodist Church and in the church choir for over 50 years, the United Methodist Women's, the Primetimer's, the Bellevue Lioness Club and the ETC Club.
She and Gordon loved to travel as they went to Germany 3 times, Paris, Mexico, Aruba, Florida and many trips in Michigan.
Mary Lou enjoyed reading, playing cards, bowling and going on cruises. She loved having the grandchildren stay overnight, watching her grandchildren's sporting events and concerts and family dinners.
Mary Lou is survived by her children; Nancy (Michael) Kucera of Mint Hill, N Carolina, Cindy (Bob) Older of East Leroy, Michigan, Harold (Shelley) Vogt of Hickory Corners, Michigan and Gordy (Tracey) Vogt of Battle Creek, Michigan her 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren., and her brother Bernard Otto. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon and her grandson Brad Older and two brothers Charles and Richard Otto.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 1:30 until 3:00 PM at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 205 N. Elizabeth St. Bellevue, Michigan 49021. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Olmstead officiating. Private interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue.
