Mary Jane Denniston, 86, of Potterville, Michigan, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Medilodge in Marshall, Michigan.

She was born on August 6, 1938 to Thomas and Viola (Ansell) Gallihugh in Marshall, Michigan. She graduated from Olivet High School.

On September 15, 1957 Mary Jane married Lee Denniston in Marshall, Michigan, sadly he passed away on December 7, 2010. Mary Jane worked as a housekeeper at the residence of Hans Schuler for several years.

Mary Jane enjoyed crafting, knitting and sewing. She was an excellent artist; pencil drawing and oil painting were her favorite. She enjoyed completing word search puzzles, gardening and canning her bounty from the garden. Evangelist and western television shows were her favorites. She loved her pet dogs as well.

Mary Jane attended Potterville Methodist Church.

Mary Jane is survived by her children; Lee Denniston, Jr. of Potterville, Michigan, Jim (Terrie) Denniston of Charlotte, Michigan, Brenda (Jerry) Grosselin of Cincinnati, Ohio and Barbara (Jerry) Alvarado of San Antonio, Texas, her grandchildren; Nathaniel (Kim) Denniston, Alycia (Robert) Hamaker, Jennifer (DeWyne) Spaw, Matthew (Trina) Denniston, Gregory Grosselin, William Grosselin, Christopher Grosselin, Annette Grosselin, Emma Alvarado, Sela Alvarado and Nena Alvarado., and her great grandchildren; LilyAnna, Lorelei, Sawyer, Emlee, Benjiman, Hunter, Chevelle (Lane), Javelynne, Kael, Marceline, Savannah, Alexus, Kalea, Kaleb, her sisters; Roberta Harris of Olivet, Michigan and Hazel (Jim) Neal of Marshall, Michigan, and her special friend; Kelly Binning of Charlotte, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her son; Douglas Paul Denniston and her parents.

Visitation for Mary Jane will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Kempf Family Funeral & Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, Michigan 49068. The funeral service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Aupperlee officiating.
