Mary E. (Keck) Lane

Mary E. Lane, 94, of East Leroy, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at home. 

She was born on July 15, 1928 to Delbert and Nina (Keeny) Keck in Battle Creek, Michigan. She graduated from Athens High School. On October 18, 1947 she married Donald Lane in Athens, Michigan, sadly he passed away on May 6, 2016.

Earlier in Mary's life, she worked at Westin Biscuit Company, the Brown Jug and Twinsy Toys. Mary was a member of North Athens Baptist Church and was active with their Sunshine Circle and Women's Bible Study. She enjoyed crafting, flower gardening, playing cards and watching her grandchildren. Mary was an excellent cook and baker, her no bake cookies were a family favorite and will be missed. Mary loved quilting and especially making baby blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her children; Dennis (Sheila) Lane of E. Leroy, Michigan, Richard Lane of Lewiston, New York, Ronald (Kathy) Lane of E. Leroy, Michigan, Norman (Patti) Lane of Three Rivers, Michigan and Sheryl Dunn of E. Leroy, Michigan; her 20 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Barbara Stump of Battle Creek, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Donald Lane, her parents; her twin sons Gary and Jerry Lane, her daughter; Rosemary Lane, one brother and two sisters.

Visitation for Mary will take place on Monday, September 26, 2022, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at North Athens Baptist Church 2020 M Dr S Athens, Michigan 49011. Funeral services will at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Daniel Lane and Pastor Mark Behr, officiating. Burial will follow at North Athens Cemetery.
