Marvin A. Jones

Marvin H. Jones, age 91, of Marshall, died at Glen Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek on Friday, February 14, 2020.

Marvin was born on October 8, 1928 in Marshall to Vern and Aleatha (Woods) Jones.  He grew up on the family farm in Eckford Township where he has lived his entire life.  Marvin was a 1946 graduate of Marshall High School.  He was employed at Eaton Corporation in Marshall for 32 years from 1951 until his retirement in 1983.  He farmed all of his life in Eckford Township.

He was married on January 3, 1948 to Betty Mae Miller.  The couple made their home on the family’s farm in Eckford Township where they raised their sons Jeff and Doug.   Betty preceded him in death on June 30, 2005.

Marvin was a member of the former Marshall Assembly Of God Church and Moose Lodge #676.

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Douglas L. and Verna Jones of Marshall, his grandchildren Zach (Meghan) Jones, Damon (Billy) Jones, Jennifer K. Jones and Sarah M. Jones.

Besides his wife Betty, he was preceded in death by his parents, his son Jeffrey M. Jones and daughter-in-law Sharon K. (Bischoff) Jones, and his sister Mildred T. Knowles.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Oakridge Cemetery.    Arrangements are by Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 723 US Hwy 27 N, Marshall, MI 49068.
