Marion Ann (Hoffman) Lozon

May 12, 1931 — March 15, 2023

West Eckford Township

Marion Ann Lozon, age 91, of Marshall, Michigan was reunited with her loving husband, Richard J. Lozon on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, when she passed peacefully surrounded by her family. Marion was born on May 12, 1931, in Marshall to Jay and Bernice (Pierce) Hoffman. Her parents moved the family to River Rouge, Michigan when Marion was young. She attended River Rouge High School and is where she met her husband, Richard. They were married on February 11, 1956, at Our Lady of the Lourdes Church in River Rouge. They raised three children together and preceding Richard’s retirement from the Detroit Police Department, Richard and Marion moved their family to Marshall in 1973.

Marion was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family was her pride and joy. When she took on the role of being a grandmother, she spent summers picking apples in the front yard, taking them indoors to make homemade applesauce and pies for the grandkids, and Richard. Weekend mornings were spent with a deck of cards and a game of war at the dining room table. The dining room was a special gathering spot and while sitting at the table looking out the windows, there were numerous birdfeeders and many birds. Marion had a collection of bird books, and she shared her love and knowledge with the grandkids, along with the importance of nature. Christmas time was special and filled with sugar cookie making, tree decorating, and the family Christmas party. She was someone you wanted to know, and to know her was to love her.

Marion loved spending her summers with her boys, the Detroit Tigers. She was an avid Tigers fan and enjoyed sitting on her screened porch cheering them on.

Marion is survived by her children, Julie Lozon, Susan (Tom) Lozon-Montague, Michael (Tammy) Lozon; grandchildren, Jessica Brown, Garrett (Amanda) Lozon, Jacob (Megan) Lozon, Hannah Lozon, Luke Lozon, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Lozon; her parents, Jay and Bernice Hoffman; her sisters, Jane Hoffman-Dye, Elsie Dye, Ruth Hamilton, Eleanor Carey; and her brother, Elmer Hoffman.
