Mrs. Dawson enjoyed a 26-year career working for the Jackson Public School System.   She first served the school district working for 20 years in the bookkeeping department.  She then transferred and worked as an Administrative Assistant for the elementary schools.  She retired in 1982.  Other places of employment in her youth, included at the Donnie Moore Meat Packing Plant.

She remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  Her true passion in life was her grandchildren. Her days were filled with following her granddaughter’s play softball, volleyball and competitive cheer.  On weekends, she would often travel to Cincinnati on Friday nights, then travel to Holland, Michigan on Saturday afternoon just watch her grandsons play football.  She did this on a regular basis, easily putting six hundred miles on her car in a weekend.

She is survived by a daughter, Penny (Larry) Warner of Cincinnati, OH; a son, Terry Dawson of Grand Blanc, MI; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and a sister, Pat Woodhurst of Parma.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Addie Snow and Martha Bruce, and brothers, Joe Frazier and Richard Frazier.
