Marian A. Bishop, age 83, of Albion went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 29, 2020.  She was surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Bishop was born on October 20, 1936 in Lachine, Michigan to Charles and Elsie (Avery) Frey.  She was a graduate of Clarkston High School, class of 1954.  Marian had been employed by the State Farm Regional Offices in Marshall for 32 years, retiring in 1999.

On June 26, 1954, she married Wendell Lee Bishop in Clarkston.  The couple had just celebrated their 66th  wedding anniversary.

Marian was a farmer’s wife and took an active role in the daily life of the farm.   Marian was a devoted Christian and had a heart for children’s ministry.  She was an active and longtime member of the Albion First Baptist Church where she taught children’s church for many years.  She also, was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary and was a tireless prayer warrior.

She is remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She excelled in making special memories for her grandchildren.  Her cookies were always a special treat and grandma was very competitive on the checkerboard.  A favorite memory was a family trip that she lovingly planned to Disney World in Florida.

Marian and her husband enjoyed traveling in their retirement.   Their travels included trips to Alaska, the Bahamas and visiting grandchildren around the country.  She spent several winters in their beloved Florida.
