Lois Rae (Casey) Langridge

Lois Rae Langridge, 95, of Marshall, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on August 31, 1926 the daughter of Edward and Eunice (Southwick) Casey in Grand Rapids Michigan. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic Central School in Monroe, Michigan. On November 29, 1952 she married Albert Langridge at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall.

Lois worked along with Al as co-owner of Al’s Friendly Service in Fredonia Township from 1959 until Al’s death in 1973. The store was a gathering spot for friends and neighbors to enjoy a cup of coffee and good conversation. Many life-long friendships were made at the store. Lois was always there for others, helping in any way she could. She continued her career as a real estate agent with Eckloff Realty and then with Sherman Realtors.

Lois was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall and was a former member of the Battle Creek Board of Realtors. Lois was a golfing enthusiast, usually at Tomac Woods or Alwyn Downs. She enjoyed bowling and water skiing on Lyon Lake, there were many children that learned to water ski because of Lois. She was a very independent woman and not afraid to tackle any project, including learning computers and painting with watercolors. Lois never backed down from a good conversation about political and local events. She was well known for her knowledge and collecting of antiques and was a mentor to many. She worked well into her eighties at the Cronin Antique Center.

Lois is survived by her loving daughters; Carol (Steve) Riggs of Marshall, Beverly (Bev) Hiscock of Marshall, her grandchildren; Jay (Rachael) Riggs of Marshall, Josh Riggs of Marshall and Nicole (Luke) Roberts of Marshall, her great grandchildren; Caleb Riggs, Collin Riggs, Casen Roberts and Coraline Roberts, and special nieces Mary (Dave) Fountain of Marshall and Joanne (Sam) Mckeever of Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her husband Al, parents and her brother Robert Casey.

Private visitation and graveside service will take place at a later date. Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Marshall.

Memorials are suggested to Oaklawn Hospice or St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marshall.
