Leslie “Les” J. Hazen, 67, of Marshall died on Monday, February 10, 2020 at his home following a long illness.
Les was born on November 13, 1952 in Kalamazoo to Athol and Helen Hazen. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1970. Les joined the United States Air Force in 1970, and he was honorably discharged in 1974.
Les was a Grain Inspector for Michigan Grain Inspection for over 22 years. He retired in 2018 due to illness. Les was a former member of the Fredonia Grange. He enjoyed playing softball, reading and going on road trips. Les also enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and going to concerts.
He is survived by his son Christopher (Melissa) Hazen; step-children Jacqueline Razkowic and Michael Razkowic; granddaughter, Bella Hazen; step-grandchildren, Tori (Derek) Razkowic, Dominic Razkowic, Alex Razkowic, Gianna Razkowic, and Trinity Razkowic; his father Athol Hazen; siblings, Mary Lyke and Richard Hazen; special friends Tonya Moon Jettner, and Joe Leichliter. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Hazen; and a sister Lois Hazen.
A memorial of gathering will take place from 2-5pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US 27 N., Marshall MI 49068.
