Layne Allen Treat

Layne Allen Treat, 67, of Marshall, passed away on January 4, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Battle Creek, on April 12, 1954, to William A. and Virginia R. (Miller) Treat. Layne retired on January 17, 1997, after 25 years of faithful service to Provincial House who later became Tender Care, now known as MediLodge of Marshall. On December 8, 1995, he married Brenda Goodrich in Battle Creek, who will forever miss him.

Layne enjoyed CB Radios, his handle was “Super Six”, loved to watch professional wrestling and treasured his cats, especially his most recent, “Molly”.

Along with his wife, Brenda, Layne is survived by his daughter, Lisa M. (Marcellus) Jessie of East Pointe; four grandchildren, Ashlyn Baklund of Union City, Caleb Baklund of Union City, Alayha Jessie of East Pointe and Marcellus Jessie, Jr. of East Pointe; mother, Virginia R. Treat of Marshall; two brothers, Robert M. (Jill) Treat of Schoolcraft and Brian (Amy) Treat of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his father, William A. Treat in 1993.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held January 22, 2022, at Schuler’s Signature Room from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
