Larry C. Easterday, 78, of Marshall died on Friday, April 12, 2019, at his home after being stricken suddenly.
Larry was born October 3, 1940 in Marshall to Denzel and Marjorie (Whitcomb) Easterday. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1959. Larry served four years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1963. On August 7, 1965 he married Dixie Walker in Marshall.
Larry retired from Consumers Power Gas Division in 1996 after working there for 30 years. He was a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge #676. Larry enjoyed bowling and golfing of which he took part in several different leagues. He enjoyed old cars, fishing, and traveling. Larry loved spending time with his family especially spending time with his great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Dixie of Marshall; children Heidi (Kevin) Carleton of Shelbyville, Indiana, Robin (Steve) Guerra of Jerome, Michigan and Scott (Patricia) Barton of Belgrade, Montana; grandchildren, Katie (Josh) Rickett, Alex (Chad) Mainstone, Hannah (Cody) Burghdorf, Olivia Guerra (fiance Caleb Vincent), Graham (Maegan) Hency, Emily Hency, and Gabriel Guerra; great-grandchildren, Payton, Deanna, Colton, Ivy, Vivian, and Everly; and sisters, Gay Royalty and Sherry (John) Holt. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister Chloris Cooley.
Family will greet friends on Thursday April 18, 2019 from 1-3pm at the Marshall Chapel of the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 723 US 27 North with a memorial service taking place at 3pm with Reverend James Codde officiating. Family will gather with friends following the services at the Marshall Moose Lodge. Memorial contributions are requested to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the Marshall VFW Post. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
