Kathryn "Kathy" LaVaune Schiesser, 54, of Battle Creek, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek.

She was born on August 24, 1968 to Floyd and Mary (Walling) Britten in Battle Creek.

On October 31, 1989 she married Kurt Schiesser in East Leroy, Michigan.

Kathy was an active member of the Pearl Party Club. She loved Christmas, especially making rock candy and decorating. She enjoyed camping, bass fishing in Canada, kayaking and crafting. Above all else, she adored her children and grandchildren. They could always count on Mom or Nana to be there for support and love.

Kathy is survived by her loving spouse of 33 years, Kurt, her children; Lois (Kevin) Lewis of Battle Creek, Carissa  Johnson of Battle Creek, Sara (Adam) Lewis of  Battle Creek, and Chase  Johnson of Battle Creek, her companion dog; Sparky, her grandchildren; Katelynn, Harley, Elizabeth, Kurtis, Lillyann, Jesse, Chase Jr., and Tucker, her father and mother in law; Kurt (Joan) Schiesser of Battle Creek, her sisters; Bonny (Tom) Wagner of Bellevue, Norma (Randy) Law of Cache, Oklahoma, Bettie Henry of Battle Creek, Pamela (Ben) Santora of Bellevue, Dulcey Miller of Bellevue, Deb (Bill) Hall of Hastings, her sister in law, Heidi (Dave) Prior of Massey, Ontario, Canada, her brothers; Kenny Decker of LaBelle, Florida and Floyd Totten of Hastings, her brother in law; Dale (Brenda) Schiesser of Marshall, her special children; Amanda (Cuyler) Ball of Battle Creek, her special grandchild; Melanie Ball of Battle Creek, and her special friend; Brandy (Russ) Miller of Crooksville, Ohio. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Johnny Baker, and her sisters; Loretta McGinn, and Val Thompson.

A Celebration of Kathy's life will take place on December 3, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Marshall VFW Post 4073 (800 E. Michigan Ave. Marshall, Michigan 49068)

Memorials are suggested to the Bellevue Memorial Scholarship Fund (201 W. Main St. Bellevue, Michigan 49021).
