Junior L. Shreve

December 24, 1927 — June 5, 2018

Junior L. Shreve, 90 of Marshall, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility following a long illness.

Mr. Shreve was born on December 24, 1927 in Onadaga to Glenn and Pansy (Slusher) Shreve. He served in the United States Navy as a gunner from 1942-1946, when he was honorably discharged. On November 24, 1951, he married Eva Joan Gates in Angola. She preceded him in death in 2007.

Mr. Shreve worked for Dale Chapman at the Ford Tractor Dealership following the war. He also farmed in the Marshall area his whole life. Mr. Shreve was a mechanic and worked out of his barn on his farm. Mr. Shreve was a member of the Marshall VFW, American Legion, and the Marshall Moose Lodge. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and being on the lake. He also had a strong love for working on, buying, and selling old tractors and riding his Harley's.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kathie and Tom Walbeck of Lafayette, Indiana; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Lila (Bob) Hughes-Laupp of Marshall Marshall and Shirley (Pete) Macey of Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; children, William Shreve in 1994, Tammy Shreve in 2006, and Charles Shreve in 2010; and a brother Lyle Shreve.

A graveside service will take place at 1:30pm on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Reverend James Codde officiating. Memorial contributions are requested to Marshall VFW. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
