Judith Ann (Morgan) Harrington

Judith Ann (Morgan) Harrington passed away November 18, 2019 at the Gulf Coast Village Nursing home in Cape Coral Florida.  Judy was born on February 7, 1945 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Guy W. and Mildred M. Morgan and grew up on the Morgan Farm on Beadle Lake Road.  Inheriting her mother’s love of music, she was a member of the Harper Creek High School Band playing clarinet and Piano.  After Graduation in 1963, she was employed at Keener Radio and played piano for various churches.

Judy also played clarinet and piano with the NEW SUPERIOR JAZZ band group.  She enjoyed trips to New Orleans to hear the Jazz being played there.  Judy developed a liking for clowns and their performances s she would dress up like a clown for several events she attended.  After a marriage ended in divorce, Judy moved to Ohio where she was employed by the Flour Corporation.

Later on Judy reconnected with a former jazz band member, John Harrington, also from Battle Creek, who had lost his wife and retired to Fort Meyers Florida.  After Judy and John were married, Judy continued to play piano and organ at various churches in the Fort Meyers Area.  She also joined John in playing with different Jazz Bands in the area. Along with a love for music, Judy and John shared a love for cooking and good food they both were excellent cooks.  For many years Judy and John lived on a golf courses in Florida and enjoyed playing and watching many professionals when they came to play tournaments in Florida.

Sadly, John passed away first and his buried with his first wife in Niles, Michigan.  Judy continued to live in North Fort Meyers until her passing.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and she is survived by a brother in Battle Creek George Morgan.  Cremation took place in Florida, and Judy will be laid to rest in Morgan Cemetery next to her parents in Leroy Township.  Sign the online guestbook and leave a personal message for the family at http://www.kempffuneralhome.com Local arrangements are entrusted with the Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services 2838 Capital Ave SW Battle Creek 49015.
