Johnny B. Coontz, 77, of Marshall, Michigan passed away on June 7, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home in Jackson, Michigan.

Johnny was born on December 6, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to Frederick B. and Betty J. (Strader) Coontz.

He worked at General Motors Plant # 3 in Lansing for over 30 years as a gauge repairman.

Johnny was an active volunteer at Somerset Beach Campground in Somerset, Michigan. He loved to be out in nature, camping, hiking and skiing. Johnny enjoyed using his hands as he built his own home, woodworking, fixing anything that broke down and creating stained glass pieces. Johnny enjoyed traveling out west and going on mission trips.

Johnny is survived by his children Michelle (Gary) Coats of Marshall, Michigan and Kevin (Lisa) Coontz of Eaton Rapids, Michigan, his 5 grandchildren; Ariel Coontz, Tim Coontz, Ann (Thomas) Wassenaar, Rachelle Sutherland and Kimberly Coats,
his 3 great grandchildren; Zander, Jasmine and Grace and his special friend and companion; Patricia Gibson of Jackson, Michigan, his brother; Frederick (Jill) Coontz of Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for Johnny will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 19, 2021 with visitation from 10:00 until 11:00 AM, followed by a light lunch at Somerset Beach Campground 9822 Brooklawn Court, Somerset Center, Michigan 49282.
