John Anthony Meneguzzo

John A. Meneguzzo, 68, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2021.
John was born on September 27, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan; son of John E. and Theresa M. Meneguzzo. He grew up in Garden City, Michigan, and graduated from Garden City West High School. He worked at Ford Motor Co. in Wayne, Michigan for 34 years. When John retired, he moved to his cottage in Battle Creek, Michigan full time.
John was truly a gentle giant, whose favorite moments were spending time with family and friends. John was an avid church goer all his life. He loved camping and traveling, especially visiting his Aunt Rose and Uncle Walter in the Upper Peninsula.
John was a sports enthusiast; his favorites were hockey, baseball, and NASCAR. He enjoyed going to the movies, bowling, watching the Blue Angels, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, Battle Creek Bombers, and K Wings. He was a member of the K Wings Fan Club.
John loved trucks. He went to car shows, tractor pulls and hot air balloon events.
John is survived by his siblings; Paula (Robert) Riggs of East Leroy, Marianne (David) Stier of Battle Creek, Peter Meneguzzo of Battle Creek, Maureen (Gary) Smith of Northville, Carmen (Steven) Schwenk of East Leroy, Timothy (Denise) Meneguzzo of Battle Creek, Lisa Meneguzzo of Battle Creek, and Christopher (Verna) Meneguzzo of Marshall, his nieces and nephews; Rob (Tracy) Riggs, Jesse Riggs, Katie Blazewski, Crystal (Thomas) Prebish, Nicole (Chris) Ryan and his great nephews; Robert J. Riggs, and Harrison Prebish. John was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Deborah Blazewski.
John's family gives the warmest thanks to his "family" and friends at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility where he received exceptional care.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, from 4:30 until 7:00 PM at Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 2838 Capital Ave SW Battle Creek, MI 49015. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Battle Creek with Fr. Christopher Ankley officiating. Interment will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery & Mausoleum in Dearborn Heights, Michigan on Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 10:45 AM.
