Joanne E. (Terpstra) TenBrink

Joanne E. TenBrink, 83 of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at her home.

Joanne was born on April 25, 1936, in Coopersville, Michigan to George and Jennie (Van Houten) Terpstra.  She graduated from Coopersville High School in 1955.  She married David TenBrink in 1955, and he preceded her in death.

Joanne was a master seamstress many years in the Battle Creek area.  She upholstered cars, hemmed and made clothes for her family and the church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Battle Creek.  Joanne was active with the church  quilting club, the ladies guild, and helping with the soup kitchen. She had a love for helping others, and over the years Joanne cared for 13 foster children.

She is survived by her children Marvin (Jana) TenBrink, Nelson TenBrink, Carl (Donna) TenBrink, Sue (Brian) Bradshaw and, Annie (Todd) Beach; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings Marge TenBrink, Rose Emelander and, Jim (Joan) Terpstra. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother Kenneth Terpstra.
