Jerry Brownell, age 80, of Bellevue, Michigan died Monday, December 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on February 7, 1938 in Schultz, Michigan to Robert and Irene (Dann) Brownell. Jerry attended the old Schultz Country School and then was a graduate of Hastings High School, class of 1956. Jerry had engaged in Dairy Farming. Other forms of employment included driving Semi-Trucks for the State of Michigan and owning a Hardware Store in Potterville
On December 12, 1959, he married the former Joan Elaine Francisco. Joan and Jerry just celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Jerry had a very strong work ethic and passed his passion along to his family. He built the log home that he shared with his wife, Joan. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and listening to the Detroit Tigers Baseball team. Jerry also enjoyed classic cars and at one time owned several Chevy Corvettes.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; daughters, Sheri (John) Britton of Marshall and Karen (Steven) Rutenber of Bellevue; sons, Frank (Karen) Brownell of Marshall and Randy (Marie) Brownell of Fayetteville, Georgia; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His also survived by sisters, Mary Cotant, Jane Barlow and Margaret Wellman; and brothers, John Brownell, Jim Brownell, Jeff Brownell, Tom Brownell and Ron Brownell.
The family will receive family and friends on Friday, December 21, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Marshall Chapel of Kempf Family Funeral Homes and Cremation Services. Light refreshments will be provided.
Family and friends who wish may make memorial contributions to Great Lake Hospice or Eaton County Palliative Care. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
